This one will be quick. Like actually quick. Not like what normally happens when I say things like “this one will be shorter” and then write 5,000 words.
In fact, I think I’ll just sit back and let these moving picture thingies do the talking for me:
All in all, it was a really fun, rewarding day, and I have my friends to thank for that. As I mentioned in the video, they didn’t train for this testing but merely joined in to give me some company, and I greatly appreciated it. That being said, as an added bonus, they still set some PRs (all of our bests from the day are listed down below, along with “official” awards).
I was also pretty satisfied with the results of this training cycle, having increased my lifts as follows (percentage increases from previous 1 RM): +7% on the squat, +5% on the deadlift, and +1.5% on the bench (*womp womp*). Certainly plenty of room to improve (particularly on the bench), but for now it was just fun to see my cycle culminating with me being stronger than I was before.
That being said, my mind is already whirring with all of the things I want to adjust the next time around. I don’t have a specific meet identified yet, but I am thinking I would like to compete (hopefully officially this time) sometime in May or June, and while these goals are not quite solidified in my head, the two numbers that I am arbitrarily thinking of at this point are breaking a 1,400 lb total and squatting 500 lbs.
We’ll see what happens.
Anyways, I promised to keep this short, and that’s what I’m gonna do!
